With over three years of hands-on experience, Astika has managed and contributed to a range of sustainability projects across industrial, pharmaceutical, and environmental sectors.
Astika holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, where her research cantered on enhancing biogas production through microbial innovation—reflecting her deep interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and applied environmental science. Her academic journey began with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Botany from Burdwan Raj College and is complemented by certifications in Environmental Law, GIS, and Computer Applications. She began her professional career as an EIA Trainee at ULTRA TECH Environmental Consultancy, where she conducted baseline environmental assessments and supported impact studies in alignment with Indian regulatory standards. Before her environmental career has started, she subsequently served as an In-Process Quality Assurance Officer at Pharma Impex Laboratories, overseeing microbiological and environmental testing to ensure compliance in a highly regulated pharmaceutical setting. Astika further strengthened her expertise in industrial sustainability through EHS training at Shyam Steel Manufacturing Ltd., gaining practical insights into workplace safety and environmental management systems. Proficient in tools such as ArcGIS, Remote Sensing, and spectrophotometry, she also has extensive hands-on experience with advanced analytical instruments, including gas chromatographs and AMPTS II—positioning her as a well-rounded and technically skilled environmental professional
